individual with their consent, regardless of their job role. This check reveals
information on "unspent" convictions, offering a preliminary level of background
screening.
Turnaround Time: Typically between 1 to 10 business days.
Standard disclosure
Standard criminal record checkThe Standard Criminal Record Check, or Standard Disclosure, is applicable for individuals entering specific professions, such as law and accountancy. This check provides a detailed report of all "spent" and "unspent" convictions, including cautions, reprimands, and final warnings.
Enhanced disclosure
Enhanced criminal record checkAn Enhanced Criminal Record Check, or Enhanced Disclosure, is essential for positions involving regulated activities with a Regulated Activity Provider, as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and amended by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. This includes roles like teachers, doctors, and nurses. In addition to the checks included in the Standard Disclosure, the Enhanced Disclosure involves a check of local police records for any additional information relevant to the applicant’s role. Note that this check does not include the barred lists.

Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. The Barred List Check is an immediate
verification tool to ensure a candidate is not barred from such activities,
providing a swift confirmation while awaiting the Enhanced DBS results.
